Very intricately painted clove tree - A Madhubani art form – typifying some beliefs of the Hindu culture.
Originating out of the humble domestic rituals, Madhubani art form started depicting all forms of Hindu beliefs ranging from religious and mythological to the daily life ones. The Hindus of certain part of Indonesia associates the clove with fertility and procreation because of its shape.
Very intricately drawn diagonal patterns imply the abundance of love and life and the simplicity of colour adds to its grandeur. The bird atop gives it a divine apprehension. Various shades of brown are only used in this filigreed Maithili painting.
